Maintenance Technician

Jonaco has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician in our Chaska, MN office. This individual will be responsible for “hands-on” maintenance on a variety of CNC machining equipment and perform repair work on facilities and equipment as needed. Installs and maintains production machines and assists in machine overhaul within the facility. This includes but is not limited to hooking up control wiring, motor hook-ups, and rewiring of production equipment. The Maintenance Technician will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance as well as special projects to optimize production. Knowledge of metal cutting operations, tooling and set-up of CNC machine would be a plus for this position

Job Requirements

  • Perform routine maintenance and/or preventative maintenance on CNC Machines and facilities equipment
  • Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition, make necessary adjustments, logs test readings, repair or replace essential equipment parts
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns on machine tools and manufacturing machinery
  • Assists in set up and install of new and relocated equipment (i.e., machinery, air compressors and testing equipment)
  • General building and facility maintenance/other duties as assigned
  • Maintain spare parts, and maintenance supply inventories
  • Familiarity with industrial technologies such as pneumatic, hydraulics, and electronics
  • Work from manufactures’ manuals, schematics and engineering data to ensure equipment functions as designed
  • Use precision test and diagnostics equipment
  • Completes work order documentation in computerized maintenance system
  • Participate in work groups for continuous improvement
  • Assist manufacturing engineering in support of process improvement and project development

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; degree in technical field preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • CNC Machine control function and operations experience
  • Computer literate, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have basic problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and evaluate technical problems
  • Experience recovering CNC from an out of cycle condition for the ATC (automatic Tool Changes) and APC (Automatic Pallet Changers)
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communications
  • A solid work stability and good work ethic
  • Familiar with the use of hand tools
  • Must be able to do strenuous work, such as climbing, balancing, kneeling, squatting, crawling, twisting, bending at the waist, reaching, lifting up to 60 pounds and working in heights in excess of 10 feet.
