Material Packing Clerk

Jonaco has an immediate opening for a Shipping Clerk in our Chaska, MN office. This position is responsible for primary warehouse duties and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing, picking, packing, sorting and general maintenance. General department housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean and orderly work environment. Verifies product received and packing in a fast paced, high unit environment.
Job Requirements
- Reports to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
- Functions may include, but are not limited to unloading, put away, sorting, labeling, picking, packing, replenishing, auditing, shipping, making boxes, etc
- Performs ticketing, stocking, picking, packing, counting, housekeeping and safety functions
- Order Picking/Filling pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped
- Checks, verifies and audits merchandise and enters data into remote data terminal to ensure that product has been received and identified properly and is not damaged and defective
- Helps with cycle counts and inventory accuracy
- Pack, unpack, and mark stock items, using identification tag, stamp, or electronic marking tool or other labeling equipment
- Identify incorrect/short or overage items and immediately notify supervisor
- Assist in shipping and receiving and wash area as needed
- ability to work in a fast paced environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail
- Follows protocols and work instructions
Minimum Qualifications
- High School education or GED preferred
- 1-5 years experience preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and shipping software preferred
- Experience with international shipment preferred
- Forklift experience a plus
Physical Demands: Most of the time is spent standing, with some time sitting and walking. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle and feel parts. Should be able to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and color vision. May need to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs., occasionally 75 lbs. or with assistance over 75 lbs.
Work Environment: Most of the time is spent in the machine shop working near moving parts with loud noise exposure. Some exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
